Purpose
Greetings all in the name of Jesus.
Joh 18:37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
Jesus Christ knew for what purpose He was born on the Earth. He knew for what cause He was come into the world. To bear witness of the truth and to perform the works of God faithfully.
Phi 1:20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.
Phi 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Paul also knew what his purpose was in life. To serve God and magnify him.
There are many people in this world who seek so hard for a purpose. Some time ago I met an older man who having failed in his marraige, now retired and alone, was spending his time mostly buying expensive play things. He told me that "he who has the most toys wins."
How shallow, how sad his life must be if he thinks that "winning" is to buy carnal things. How sad to think that one can win if one isn't even working on the only purpose worthy of our life's central focus; Christ. So many men collecting things and so many women working to achieve that which cannot be retained for long. So many temporal ventures and distractions to blind people. So many things that just don't really matter.
Peter, coming to the end of his mortal existance, wrote to the church saying that as long as he was yet alive he would put them in rememberance of the things of God. Peter had a purpose. Peter had a cause that mattered. And Peter was working on the Master's vinyard up until the very end. For this cause he was put on the Earth... and you also.
If you are reading this blog and are a Spirit filled Christian, focus on your calling. It's what's really important. We all have obligations in life to our families and to every day tasks, but don't let the things of this life steal your purpose.
If you are reading this and you are not under the ark of safety that is in Christ, come unto the Master. Give your life to Jesus. Serve Him with all of your might. Nothing else is so fufilling and nothing else will matter a thousand years from now.
God bless.
Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Ecc 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
