Fingers to Fight...

Greetings in the name of our

Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In the 144th Psalm, David writes:

Blessed be the LORD my strength,

which teacheth my hands to war,

and my fingers to fight:

David was man that had the right

attitude on the state of the world.

David was not interested in placating the

enemy, he was not interested in appeasing

the adversary or compromising with those

whose sought to pollute and destroy the

kingdom of God. And this pleased God.

Remember what Acts 13:22 says:

...he raised up unto them David to be their

king; to whom also he gave testimony, and

said, I have found David the son of Jesse,

a man after mine own heart, which shall

fulfil all my will.

God taught David's fingers to fight so that

he could accomplish His divine will. But it

took fighting, and it took war. For David was

not settled in a place of peace. He was in a

place where war raged and he had to battle

and contend with the enemy on a daily basis.

But David's mind was made up to do just that.

He didn't say "Lord take the battle from me," he

thanked God for teaching him to fight. He

thanked God for the being his tower that

he might overcome.

We too are in a place of violence in this

present world. This violence and corruption

comes from the devil who makes war

continually with the saints. We who are the

children of God should call upon God that He

may teach us to likewise war, not against

flesh and blood, but against the spiritual

darkness and Satan who like Goliath now

stands to defy the armies of the living God.

Then like David, we too and slay the spiritual

giants in the earth that they prevent not the

advancement of Kingdom of God and the

merciful salvation of Jesus Christ.

Those who would compromise with evil and

sin are those who are afraid to fight it. But we

must not comprimise with evil because it will

not compromise with us. The enemy will

fight will all of his might against us regardless

because he knows his time is short. So let us not

then fall captive to an enemy that is already

condemned to defeat. Fear not to fight.

Let your hand learn to war with the

word of God that is our sword. Let your

fingers learn to fight through the Spirit of Truth, the

Holy Ghost, which is the delivering power

unto salvation. And therefore be an advancer

on the battlefield of life. Be the elect and

overcome.

1st John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God

overcometh the world: and this is the victory

that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Rev 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be

clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his

name out of the book of life, but I will confess his

name before my Father, and before his angels.

God Bless!

Evidence...

Greetings in the name of the

Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I want to talk a little bit about

faith tonight. The book of

Hebrews tells us that faith is

the subsatnce of things hoped

for and the evidence of things

not seen. On the flip side of

that, if we don't have faith, then

there really isn't any substance

to our hopes and there is no

evedence of these things not seen.

Interesting? I think so.

Remember when James said

that he would show his faith

by his works? You see, James

had faith and the miraculous

works were the evidence of the

unseen power of God. They also

gave substance to the hopes of all

of the people who had their needs

met by God through the Apostles'

ministry.

Now often I've seen poeple ask

of God why He did not do a certain

thing that they saw as needful, or why

He would let some bad thing happen

despite their prayers. God has a devine

plan, and sometimes we can ask amiss...

but for the vast majority of the time, it

is because those asking were asking

for what they genuinely hoped for...

but without real faith that God would

intervene. They hoped really hard,

but their hope was without substance.

People have stopped even believing in God

at all because of this. Because they saw no

evidence of Him. But this was because

they lacked faith in the beginning, and

thus received no evidence.

If we do not believe God at His word,

He is not inclined to grant are prayers.

He searches our hearts. When we don't

have faith that He will move when we pray,

our hearts are really saying to God: "Please

grant my request Lord, even though I don't

think you really will." Now, if someone

asked me do to someting for them with that

atitude, especially if I had told them that I

was willing and able to do for them what

I they wanted, I'd not be too inclined to grant

them what they wanted either. That disbelief

is almost like calling God a liar, since it is

contrary to His word. Hence without faith

it is impossible to please God.

However, having said all of that, let me

again encourage all of you to have faith!

For I have had my prayers answered, and I

have seen the hand of God move. I have seen

people healed of things the doctors can't help

and I've seen God work in my own life in the

most unlikely of ways to answer my prayers when

I really needed Him. And remember, it is okay to

ask God to increase our faith. One man asked

Jesus that very thing and He granted the man that

which he asked for.

So be of good cheer. Pray to God expecting Him

to move. Ask God to increase your faith if you are

having trouble with it. Take every thing to Him.

Trust Him and he will bring it to pass!
